Gardai in Lucan recover two guns linked to murder of Mark Desmond

Gardai in Lucan are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything in relation to the killing of a man in the Griffeen Valley Park are last night to come forward.

Mark Desmond (41) was gunned down shortly after 8pm last night, suffering several gunshot wounds to the head.

A car was found burned out in the Hayden’s Lane area of Lucan yesterday evening, and is believed to have been used in the murder

A gun was also found in the car, and will now be forensically analysed, while a second weapon has been discovered this afternoon in the area.

Desmond was well known to Gardai, and was questioned over a number of crimes, including four separate murders and the rape of a boy.
