
Gardai investigate assault of man in Tallaght housing estate
A GARDA investigation is underway after a man in his thirties was assaulted on Sunday evening in the Mac Uilliam Drive area of Tallaght.
The man was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and a technical examination of the scene has since been conducted.
As part of the investigations, a man in his 20s was arrested and charged and is expected to appear in Tallaght District Court today.
A garda statement released this morning said: “Gardaí are investigating an assault on a man that occurred at approximately 6:25pm on Sunday 9th July 2023 in the Mac Uilliam Drive area of Tallaght, Dublin 24.
“The injured male (30s) was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“A man in his 20s was arrested as part of this investigation and detained at a Garda station in Dublin under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
“He has since been charged and is expected to appear before Tallaght District Court on Monday 10th July 2023.”
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward.
