Gardaí investigating aggravated burglary

Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary incident that occurred on August 14 at approximately 11.30pm.

The incident occurred just outside Blessington, Co Wicklow when three males approached a house and attempted to gain access to the vehicles at the property.

One of the males who was carrying what appeared to be a firearm, gained access to the property and left with the keys of two vehicles.

The suspects then drove these vehicles in convoy, exiting the property, driving through Blessington Village Main Street, and continuing on the N81 in the Dublin direction.

One of the vehicles, a dark grey Vauxhall Insignia, was recovered the following day in Newhall Court, Tallaght and had been fitted with registration plates from a similar vehicle in a nearby Tallaght area.

The light grey Ford Transit vehicle was found the day after in Kilmartin Green, Tallaght. The side door of this vehicle had been removed.  A number of tools had been removed along with two boxed Velux windows.

The vehicle details taken during the incident were registration 211-D-641 for the Light Grey Ford Transit, registration 11-LK-3925 for the Grey Vauxhall Insignia and 131-W-824 for the registration plate taken.

The first suspect was a male aged in his twenties of medium build and height who was wearing a two tone black / grey North Face jacket with a hood, a red scarf covering his face, grey tracksuit bottoms, black runners and carried what appeared to be a firearm.

The second male was also aged in his twenties, of medium build and height and was wearing dark clothing.

Similarly, the third male was aged in his twenties and was of medium build and height and was also wearing dark clothing.

An Garda Síochána are appealing for help in relation to their investigations.

Did you see anything suspicious in the Burgage More area of Blessington prior to the burglary?

Did you see either of the vehicles driving or being parked up in the Tallaght area?

Did you observe the Ford Transit van being driven without its side sliding door?

Were you offered the sliding door for sale or did you repair a similar van with a second hand door matching the one taken?

Were you offered any of the tools for sale or the Velux windows?
