Gardai investigating public order incident in Rathcoole

GARDAI are investigating a public order incident involving a suspected firearm outside a licensed premises in Rathcoole on Saturday.

Gardai responded to reports of a man armed with a firearm on Main Street Rathcoole, threatening three individuals at around 10pm.

When Gardai arrived, those involved had left the area and no firearm was recovered, or no reports of injuries was reported.

A statement released by gardai said: “Gardaí in Clondalkin are seeking witnesses following a public order incident involving a suspected firearm in Rathcoole on Saturday, 28th September 2024.

“At approximately 10:00pm, Gardaí responded to reports of a male armed with a firearm threatening three individuals during a public order incident outside a licensed premises on Main Street in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin. On arrival of Gardaí, those involved had left the immediate area and no firearm was recovered. It is understood that no shots were fired and there were no reports of injuries”.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also asking anyone with camera footage, including dashcam recordings from Main Street, Rathcoole, between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, on Saturday, September 28 2024, to contact them.
