
Gardai renew appeal for witnesses to fatal Drimnagh shooting
GARDAI are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal shooting of Josh Itseli in Drimnagh – including the drivers of two vehicles in the area that night.
Gardai are continuing to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday, May 6, on Knocknarea Road, Drimnagh.
In a statement released, gardai continued to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
In particular, gardai are looking to speak with the drivers of two vehicles that were in the Drimnagh area on the night and who may have information relevant to the investigation.
The first vehicle is a dark coloured saloon taxi which drove on Knocknarea Road towards the junction with Mourne Road in Drimnagh, between 12am and 12.10am.
The second a red-coloured saloon taxi which drove on Sperrin Road, between the junctions with Knocknarea Road and Mourne Road in Drimnagh, between 12am and 12.10am.
The driver of this taxi was a male, and may have been dropping-off or collecting a fare at Sperrin Road at the time.
Gardai are also continuing to appeal for information in relation to a black Talaria Sting electric motorbike which is understood to have been used in connection with this incident.
The electric motorbike was observed in the vicinity of Dolphin Road, Crumlin Road and Davitt Road on Sunday night, May 5, and into the early hours of Monday morning, May 6.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have observed the black Talaria Sting electric motorbike in the vicinity of Dolphin Road in recent days.
The motorbike has been seized by investigating gardai, who are also seeking the rightful owner of the vehicle.
Gardai are also appealing to any taxi drivers, public service vehicle drivers and any motorists who observed pedestrians, or who may have been approached by pedestrians, on Davitt Road in the early hours of Monday morning, May 6.
