GARDAI investigating missing person Caique Trindade De Oliveira (24) spent the day searching the river in Clondalkin, from Corkagh Park towards Moyle Park College.
The Echo understands that the Civil Defence were in the area on Monday to assist with the search.
Caique was reported missing from Clondalkin on March 6
A garda source said they were checking along the river, as the curtilage was currently low.
Last Friday, Clondalkin gardai renewed their appeal for the public's help in tracing Caique a Brazilian national, who was reported missing from Clondalkin on March 6.
He was reported to be wearing a black t-shirt, a black jacket and black Adidas runners. Caique is approximately 5’10’’ tall with brown eyes and black hair which is shaven at the sides.
He was not in possession of his glasses when last seen.
The garda investigation to date has included a review of CCTV footage but this has failed to track Caique’s movements since he left his home.
They have established that there has been no transactions on his bank account.
Since reported missing, his mother has travelled from Brazil such is the concern for the safety of her son, concerns shared by gardai.
Superintendent Brendan Connolly from Clondalkin Garda Station, said: “We are concerned for Caique’s safety.
“He has not been seen since he left his home on March 6. He has poor English and may appear confused.
“I ask anyone with information or who can assist in locating him, including members of the Brazilian community, to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 666 7600 or any garda station.”
