Gardai seize cannabis and heroin worth €63,000

GARDAI seized cannabis and heroin worth €63,000 in Tallaght on Thursday afternoon.

As part of ongoing investigations, the Tallaght Drugs Unit searched a house in the Brookview area and seized heroin with an estimated value of €16k along with cannabis valued at €47,000 (analysis pending).

A 29-year-old was later arrested in the Tallaght area in relation to the investigation.

“As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled Drugs in the West Tallaght area, a search operation was carried this afternoon by the Tallaght Drugs Unit,” said a Garda spokesperson. 

“During the operation a house in the Brookview area was searched, where Gardaí located heroin with an estimated value of €16k along with Cannabis valued at €47k (analysis pending).

“A 29-year-old man was later arrested in the Tallaght area by investigating Gardaí and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 for questioning. He can be held for up to seven days.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow”.
