Gardai trawling through CCTV footage as Reece Cullen murder investigation continues
By Mary Dennehy
INVESTIGATIONS into the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Reece Cullen on January 5 are continuing, with gardai currently trawling through private and public CCTV from the area.
Reece was fatally stabbed in the chest on Kilclare Crescent in Jobstown at around 3pm on Thursday, January 5, with the teenager laid to rest last Wednesday, January 11, in Kilmashogue cemetery.
Since the fatal stabbing, a 14-year-old and a woman in her twenties were arrested but released without charge.
This week, as investigating officers trawl through CCTV, they reissued their appeal for information.
A senior Garda source told The Echo: “Investigations are still ongoing and we are working on a number of lines of inquiry.
“We have gotten through lots of CCTV and are currently going through more footage from both public and private cameras.
“Anybody who witnessed anything in the area on January 5 or who has any information is encouraged to get in touch.
“The community has been very supportive so far, and we rely on this support from communities.”
A knife was also discovered in a stream close to where Reece was attacked, which is undergoing forensic examinations.
