Girls’ Tech Day event goes virtual for 2020
By Mary Dennehy
AMAZON Web Service’s Girls’ Tech Day is going virtual this year.
The complimentary tech event aims to inspire and motivate girls and young women aged between eight and 24 to develop and pursue their interests in technology.
This year, some of the topics include Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Coding, Virtual Reality and Robotics.
There’ll be Speaker Sessions, where participants can learn about the experiences of students and women in technology.
Compose a melody, program an online robot or build avatars using artificial intelligence in the interactive coding sessions, or create magic with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics).
Activities are designed to go at your own pace, and participants can revisit as many times as they like.
Participants can join the event anytime between Saturday, November 14, to Saturday, November 28.
Activities require an electronic device like a computer or mobile phone with internet connection.
