Have your say on proposed new Dublin Bus routes…

A COUNCILLOR has advised people with concerns about the proposed overhaul of Dublin Bus services, known as Bus Connects, to attend local information sessions this month in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, The Square Shopping Centre or The Ashleaf Shopping Centre.
The plans for the redesign of the bus network were released last month, with it being proposed that there will be seven frequent cross-city routes, which are known as ‘spines’, that will link up other bus routes going to areas outside of the main spines.
Pamela Kearns, a Labour councillor for Templeogue-Terenure, told The Echo: “People are very worried about the Bus Connects plans as they don’t know what’s happening.
“Long term, Bus Connects seems like a very good plan, but we just need to be cautious at the minute and not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
“A few of us are going to go to the public meetings and ask pertinent questions that have been relayed to us by people in the area.”
Cllr Kearns advised those with concerns to attend the public meetings, which will take place in The Square on Friday, August 10, from 2pm to 8pm, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre on Friday, August 17 from 2pm to 8pm, and The Ashleaf Shopping Centre on Wednesday, August 29, from 2pm to 8pm.
