HSE plan to relocate 70 patients to nursing home

THE HSE plans to “temporarily” close two elderly persons units in Cherry Orchard Hospital (COH) to complete remedial works, and relocate up to 70 elderly patients to a Clondalkin nursing home.

The decision has been met with opposition by staff, and families of residents at the Willow and Sycamore Units, who are extremely concerned about the upheaval for 68 vulnerable patients accommodated there, many of whom have dementia and varying medical needs.
