Appeal for witnesses to ‘dangerous driving’ incidents

GARDAI in Ballyfermot are investigating a number of incidents, including “dangerous driving”, that occurred in Dublin 20 on the afternoon of Thursday, November 9.

Shortly before 4.20pm on Thursday, a number of incidents involving a white flatbed van and a second white van, a Volkswagen Caddy, are reported to have occurred on the N4 in Palmerstown.

According to a Garda statement issued, the incidents caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

The Garda statement said: “It’s reported that shortly before 4.20pm, a number of incidents, including dangerous driving, involving a white flatbed van and a second white van (a Volkswagen Caddy), occurred on the N4 in Palmerstown, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

“An occupant of one of these vehicles, a woman in her 30s, was then assaulted by a number of males at a retail premises nearby a short time later.

“She was taken to St James’s Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

“Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to either of these incidents to come forward.”

In particular, gardai are appealing to any road users travelling on the N4 in Palmerstown between 4pm and 4.30pm who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available.

Anybody who observed the movements of a white flatbed van and a white Volkswagen Caddy van are also asked to come forward.

In the statement released, gardai said they are also looking to speak to anybody who observed a silver Nissan jeep driving dangerously on Thursday between 4pm and 4.30pm in the vicinity of Palmerstown on the N4.
