Hundreds gather in Tallaght to say goodbye to Danielle

Family and friends of Danielle Carroll wore yellow ribbons for suicide prevention as they gathered in Fettercairn this morning (Monday) to remember the young mother who tragically took her own life last week.
Hundreds of mourners gathered in Tallaght this morning to remember the life of the woman they fondly called ‘Danzer’.
The 27-year-old mother tragically took her own life in the Leixlip House Hotel in Kildare last Wednesday, after it is believed she struggled to cope with living in emergency accommodation with her two sons.
A horse-drawn carriage brought Danielle's casket to the Church of the Incarnation, Fettercairn where her parents, two sons, siblings and many friends gathered to remember her life.
Her father Frank spoke at the 11am service, saying he would miss her ‘lovely’ smile and her voice.
He said: “She is my daughter and will always be my daughter.
“I’m going to miss her coming in with our lovely grandchildren, DJ and Carter, but we won’t miss them because we still have them.”
The Kilmartin woman frequently described her sons, seven-year-old DJ and 20-month-old Carter, as ‘her entire world’ on social media.
Father Jimmy McPartland officiated the service, saying: “All of us are really stunned by the sudden death of Danielle and in the sadness expressed in the saying, ‘here today and gone tomorrow’.
“The biggest difficulty we have now is that we feel so powerless. Events had moved in a swift and unforeseen way beyond our control. We have been left behind almost as feeble spectators.”
Friends and family presented gifts to honour her life, including a photo of her sons, a CD of her favourite songs, a bottle of Budweiser and other items in a shoe box.
Her best friend Lisa was overcome with emotion as she recited a reading from the book of Lamentations. Her nieces also recited prayers to the mother-of-two, before her father thanked the mourners.
Danielle’s remains were removed from the church as the song ‘If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time’ played.
Danielle leaves behind her sons, parents Margaret and Frank and six siblings: Francis, Paul, John, Sandra, Pauline and Caroline, as well as her extended family.
Danielle was laid to rest at Newland’s Cemetery.
