Investigation underway at Cloverhill Prison after inmate found dead this morning
An investigation is underway after a prisoner was found dead in his cell at Cloverhill Prison in Clondalkin this morning.
The circumstances surrounding the death are not believed to involve foul play.
In a statement released to Echo.ie, a spokesperson for the Irish Prison Service said: “I can confirm that an inmate at Cloverhill Prison passed away early this morning.
“As with all deaths in custody An Garda Síochána, the Inspector of Prisons and the Irish Prison Service will be investigating the matter.
“At this stage foul play is not suspected.”
