By Stephen Leonard
TALLAGHT Stadium, this evening, Friday, provides the venue for the Republic of Ireland’s big FIFA Women’s 2019 World Cup qualifier against Norway (5.30pm).
Colin Bell’s side currently sit second in Group C, three points off leaders Netherlands and just one ahead of third place Norway.
Today’s match is the first of two against the Scandinavians over the next four days, with Ireland travelling to Stavanger for the return fixture on Tuesday evening.
Included in the Ireland squad are four current Peamount players, namely midfielders Karen Duggan and Niamh Farrelly along with strikers Amber Barrett and Aine O’Gorman.
Former Peamount captain Louise Quinn and Kilnamanagh’s Katie McCabe, who were both in the Arsenal Ladies squad that reached this season’s FA Cup decider, will also be hoping to make an impact.
