IRISH Distillers has received planning permission to build a new floor of offices at its bottling plant in the Fox and Geese.

Two years ago, the company announced a €150 million investment for its sites in Cork and Dublin.

As part of this, the Fox and Geese plant is to benefit from over €20 million in upgrades, including extensions to the main operating bottling hall and storage warehouse.

The investment also includes new office spaces and additional upgrades to bottling and packing equipment.

Plans given the go-ahead by South Dublin County Council, include the addition of a first-floor level above an existing mono-pitched roof warehouse structure at the Robinhood Road premises.

The scale and design of the building would be similar to the prevalent type and style of development in the area.

Council planners deemed the extension to be in keeping with the character of the area and “will not adversely impact on visual amenities of the area.”

Among the planning conditions are that the developer shall pay €6,833 to the planning authority in respect of public infrastructure and facilities.

In 2017, SDCC granted permission to Irish Distillers for an extension to its bottling hall, to include a forklift charging area and new office space at its Fox and Geese premises.

Irish Distillers is a subsidiary of French drinks conglomerate Pernod Ricard, and the largest distiller of Irish whiskey.

They distil Jameson, Powers, and premium whiskeys such as Redbreast and Midleton Very Rare.
