After already releasing music on his EP ‘Velvet Cake’, as well as composing several singles, the young artist made his album debut with ‘Stride’.

The 13-song album got released by DFL Records in early March of 2019 and saw him topping the charts.

Furthermore, the former pupil of Old Bawn Community School in Tallaght marked himself in the Irish hip hop game.

Now, Jafaris and the nine other individual artists and bands have to go through a judging panel of 12 Irish music media professionals and industry experts, focusing on the music and not on sales or streaming.

The RTÉ Choice Music Prize is an annual event established in 2005.

Last year’s winner was the album ‘Jason’ by Cork-based band O Emperor.
