How long are you together?

2 and a half years

How long are you engaged?

1 year

How did you meet? (Joe)

We met online and we were talking for over six months. We were getting on really well but I was trying to find the courage to ask her on a date.

Then one day we randomly bumped into each other in the Square shopping centre and we haven’t looked back since.

Who proposed?

Joe

How did you propose? (Joe)

Firstly I lit lots of candles and scattered rose petals around the room. I made Audrey close her eyes and held her hand and walked her into the room.

When she sat on the bed I got down on one knee and told her to open her eyes. I asked her would she marry me and she said yes straight away.

What’s the most romantic thing you have ever done for each other? (Audrey)

I thought Joe’s proposal was very romantic. It’s also just the small everyday things.

What would your ‘first dance’ song be?

Nothing’s going to stop us now – Starship

What would it mean to win this prize?

Joe: Personally I think it would be an amazing prize to win. Before I met Audrey my life was just sitting in my room watching tv or playing video games.

Audrey has changed my life, she has given me more confidence in my life, especially with my disability (cerebral palsy) and epilepsy. I tended to hide it most of my life and I love her so much for accepting who I am.

Watching her walking down the aisle with her two sons who both have mild autism would not only make me happy but it would be Audrey’s dream.

She is my best friend and my soul mate. I would be lost without her in my life.

Audrey: If we were to win this it would be the biggest dream come true in a lifetime. To be able to marry my best friend and the love of my life, my soulmate.

We both have come through worse than you can imagine. I would be so unbelievably lost without Joe and to be able to walk down the aisle with my sons and to celebrate how much we are in love and committed to each other with our closest family and friends. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, a dream come true.
