Jonathon bids farewell to Citywise
A PARTY was held in Citywise last Friday for the departing CEO of the Jobstown-based education service, Jonathon Doyle.
Jonathon, a Jobstown native, has been the CEO of Citywise for the last four years and has worked for the service in various roles for 18 years in total.
On June 30 last, Jonathon finished his time as CEO of Citywise to embark on a new role as a business development manager for the Childhood Development Initiative in Fettercairn.
However, his former colleagues at Citywise wanted to ensure his contribution to the service hadn’t gone unnoticed, so they held the uplifting party for him last week.
“It was brilliant,” Jonathon told The Echo.
“It was a celebration of my time spent there and it was really enjoyable.

“Leaving was a difficult decision to make, but Citywise has a special place in my heart and I’m excited about taking on a new challenge and exploring a new opportunity.”
Jonathon’s involvement in Citywise has been lengthy, as he first walked through the doors of The Durkan Centre at 17-years-old seeking guidance and exploring a desire to work in his community.
He has maintained his involvement in the service ever since, but is happy to hand over the reins to his successor, Daire Hennessy, who is also a Citywise student turned employee.

“My successor, Daire, has come through the system the entire time that I was at Citywise,” said Jonathon.
“It’s a real validation of the work we’ve done.”
As for his proudest achievement over the years, Jonathon said he was most fulfilled by seeing young people from the service going on to achieve academically and returning to the service as staff.
Even though he has now departed as CEO of Citywise, Jonathon is planning to maintain his links with the service and hopes to join the board and contribute to its work in a voluntary capacity.

“I’ve always said that you never really leave Citywise,” added Jonathon, “because the memories of Citywise and the work you achieve never leaves you.”
