Joyriders in Tallaght use car to destroy football pitch and crash into goalposts

A football pitch in the middle of a Tallaght estate was destroyed by joyriders on Thursday night, according to Dublin Fire Brigade.

Units from Tallaght were called to deal with a vehicle on fire on the pitch, with the emergency service saying the incident occurred in the Kiltalown area.

They said the vehicle was set on fire after it was driven onto the pitch and was used to crash into goalposts.

Via Twitter, a spokesperson said: “Car fire in Tallaght on Thursday night. Set alight after destroying a pitch and crashed in to goal posts.
