Keeler forced out of clash with Rose
BALLYFERMOT boxer Luke Keeler has been declared medically unfit for his WBO European Middleweight title defence next month after he sustained a herniated disk in training.
Keeler was due to fight Brian Rose in York Hall, London on December 14 in his first title defence, after he beat Conrad Cummings back in April for the belt.
A herniated disk forced Ballyfermot's Luke Keeler out of his scheduled fight with Brian Rose
After rumours began circulating online regarding Keeler’s condition, he confirmed through an Instagram post on Saturday that a slipped disc in his back has forced him out of the fight.

“Thanks to everyone who were supporting me travelling over apologies for inconvenience bad luck but I’ll rest and come back fresh injury free.”
After having been handed his second pro defeat by Keeler, Cummings will now go on to fight Rose for the WBO European Middleweight belt in Belfast on December 7 after Keeler was forced to vacate the strap, but on the condition that he would face the winner.
The Pete Taylor-trained boxer said: “I’ll fight the winner early next year take back my belt push on still huge year ahead.”
Keeler turned pro last December, and grasped the huge opportunity against Cummings for the title in which all judges gave the decision to the Ballyfermot man after a 10-round war.
