Lester and Gleeson in Home Internationals title defence
ROWAN Lester from Hermitage Golf Club and Castle GC’s Alex Gleeson are part of the Ireland team that, this week, defends their Home Internationals title.
Captained by Lucan’s Tony Goode, the team will be aiming to make it four-in-a-row, the first time Ireland would have achieved such a feat.
Lester has enjoyed a great season so far that featured a North of Ireland Amateur Open title win at Royal Portrush last month.
He retains his place on the team along with three other members of last year’s winning outfit, namely Gleeson, Conor O'Rourke (Naas) and Conor Purcell (Portmarnock).
Confident in the team’s ability, Goode said “I’m very happy with the team that we’ve selected.
“It is an experienced team and hopefully, the boys can bring their A game. You need your A-game at the Home Internationals” he stressed.
