Lions U17s reach their first Cup final
DUBLIN Lions point guard Aironas Liucvaikis was on fire as he tallied a massive 38 points to cement his team’s spot in the Under-17 Dublin Cup Final with a 63-51 victory over Éanna in Colaiste Éanna on Sunday evening.
Coming off the back of a two-point win against Templeogue in the quarter-final, the Lions came flying out of the blocks in the first quarter with Liucvaikas contributing nine points to help see his side 15 points clear.

However, despite some fine scoring from Liucvaikas, Éanna managed to cut the deficit back to just three by the half-time interval.
Trading baskets in the third, all was still left to play for coming into the final quarter, but the Clondalkin/Lucan outfit took control with Liam Osinuga taking his haul to 11 points.
Aironas went up a gear scoring 17-points in a ten-minute spell before Nelson Fotso concluded the game with a two-handed breakaway dunk down the stretch.
The Lions have enjoyed a great run this season under coach Keith Magure, having also remained unbeaten after eight games in the league.
Currently in second place, Lions are just two points behind Templeogue, who have played two more games.
