Local business community celebrated at South Dublin County Business Awards
By Aura McMenamin
The second annual South Dublin County Business Awards took place last night in the Citywest Hotel.
Marty Whelan hosted the event, which was attended by Mayor Paul Gogarty, Tainaste Frances Fitzgerald and Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Katherine Zappone.
The Awards, run by South Dublin Chamber, aim to celebrate, showcase and acknowledge all that is good in businesses and non-profits in the county.
A range of categories were covered in the awards including Best Small Business, Best not-for-profit, International Trade, Innovation, Customer Service, Best Place to Eat, Business Sustainability and Business Person of the Year.
The winning company was able to demonstrate how it has promoted business activities which have brought simultaneous economic, environmental, and community benefits.
To make judging as fair and objective as possible, all criteria for the awards, the judging of the awards and the mystery shopping evaluations were done by Spotcheck NI, the recognised independent awards agency.
