Local Faces: Johnny Fegan
JOHNNY Fegan has held many roles and titles over the years: Merchant Navy seaman, chimney sweep, and when he appeared in The Echo in the 1980s, the feted ‘Birdman of Kilnamanagh’.
The 79-year-old made a star turn on the frontpage of an edition of The Echo, on August 2nd 1984, when he demonstrated his ability to recall birds who he had raised after finding them during his work as a chimney sweep.
