Local lads in Ireland U17 squad

Preparations for Ireland Men’s Under-17s Elite Round Qualifiers in March continues this week with a friendly against Denmark in Pinatar, Spain on Saturday.

Head Coach Colin O’Brien has named a squad of 22 for the games with 14 of the players from the EA SPORTS League of Ireland National League.

Included in the Ireland squad are defenders James Roche (Shamrock Rovers), Richard Vodo (Shamrock Rovers) and Ivan Graminschii (St Patrick’s Athletic) along with forward Michael Noonan (St. Patrick’s Athletic Ireland took on Hungary at Pinatar Arena on Wednesday before finishing up their one-week camp with a game against Denmark.

The friendlies will set Ireland up for qualifiers in Portugal next month where the young Boys in Green face the Portuguese, Germany and Croatia as they look to qualify for the U17 EURO Finals in Cyprus this summer.
