Local road report for those travelling by car, foot, public transport
The Echo took a drive around some of the main roads in the centre of Tallaght this evening and, while some roads are clear or have partial access, there is a lot of snow on roundabouts, hard shoulders and footpaths – which has the potential to cause flooding or large volumes of surface water by morning.
Some roads are also down to one lane both ways, with the Belgard Road down to a lane-and-a-half from The Square right down to Kingswood on both sides - with a lot of pedestrian and cycle routes still covered with slush and snow.
Road conditions this evening, even on the main artery roads that have been worked on by the council, are still treacherous - and extreme caution is advised in the morning when heavy traffic is expected and flooding.

Roads in estates
For many, however, getting onto the main artery roads is not looking likely tomorrow. Speaking with The Echo tonight, the Tallaght Neighbourhood Watch Page said it was inundated with reports of people cut-off in estates.
"There is a bit of anger regarding the council not clearing local roads", a spokesperson for the community page said.
"While we understand that primary routes are to be treated first, failing to clear local roads in housing estates defeats the purpose as residents who wish to travel to work or schools can't get out onto roads such asd the N81."
Reports of flooding are also being reported this evening, with Cookstown Industrial Estate hit with large volumes of water.

Take public transport where possible
The National Emergency Co-ordination Group has stated that there are still very challenging conditions and encouraged people to use public transport where possible.
AA Roadwatch has encouraged people to allow extra time for any journeys and to exercise caution, stressing that many main routes are down to one lane and secondary roads impassable.
Dublin Bus is operating tomorrow and the Luas is operating from Tallaght to The Point, there continues to be no tram service to Saggart.
According to Luas, a replacement bus service will serve the Belgard to Saggart stops and will commence at 6am.
