World much sadder place at loss of beautiful Nicole

TRIBUTES have poured in this week in memory of a young woman who died by suicide.

On Tuesday, Suicide Awareness Ireland posted an online message in support of Nicole (CoCo Fox) Fenlon (21), from Clondalkin.

The awareness group thanked everyone who left a comment on the post, which reached over 28,500 people, and featured many messages of support for Nicole.

In the post the group said: “Another young life taken due to bullying. When will young people learn bullying is wrong. We are calling on all parents who follow us, please speak with your child. If you are a young teen following and you know someone who is being bullied, report it straight away to a teacher.”

The group said “bullies pushed CoCo to breaking point” and the world is a “much sadder place” at the loss of a “beautiful young lady.”

Councillor Francis Timmons said it was “awful to hear someone took their life because of being bullied.”

“We need to stand up to bullies, who need to cop on. I am saddened to hear of so many suicides in our area. My thoughts are with her family and friends.”

Cllr Timmons is organising a number of Safetalk Suicide Awareness training workshops in the community – each course catering for up to 30 people.

“I highly recommend this course to all adults over 18. Safetalk is a half day training programme that prepares you to identify people with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.”

Anyone interested in taking part can email safetalk [at] francistimmons [dot] com or text 087 2869315.

A message on RIP.ie by Nicole’s family read: “With the greatest of regrets, I have to inform you of the untimely death of our beautiful daughter Nicole (CoCo Fox) Fenlon, who had a heart of gold. Most of whom knew CoCo will know the kind, caring, crazy diva she was. Not only was CoCo our daughter, she was my best friend. She was big sister to Dean and Lee who will miss her so much. May she keep us strong, your heart broken mother, father and brothers, Jackie, Karl, Dean and Lee.”

A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Nicole’s life took place at Newlands Cross Crematorium, on Wednesday.
