All eyes turn to Lucan for one of the highlights of the year

NOW IN its 28th year, the Lucan St Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the highlights of the year in the village. It has been a large community event since 1991. The parade commences at Tesco in Hillcrest, Lucan at 3pm and follows down through Millstream Road before marching into Lucan Village.
There will be road closures at Greenpark, Hillcrest, Tandy’s Lane, the Old Celbridge Road, Lucan Road and Lucan Village Main Street.

Peter Brady from Dodsboro had a large part to play in setting up the parade this year.
It promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable family day with music, games, peformers and float displays from local business organisations.
The parade assembles at Tesco at 2pm sharp and then commences at 3pm.
Leading the parade is Óglaigh Náisiúnta na h Éireann followed by the St Laurence O’ Toole Pipe band. They are followed by St Patrick, then the Red Cross and the Goldwing Owners Club Ireland. Then its Pat Keane, the Reilly School of Dance and the Lucan 23rd Scout.
The Lucan Lions Club are next followed by the Lucan Disability Action Group and Cross Care. Star Dance Academy will keep the action flowing followed by Specsavers, a vintage car, the Lucan Chinese community, the 142 Esker Scouts and the Crumlin Youth Band.
Hometown favourites Lucan Sarsfields are next followed by the Ronanstown Community Training and Education Centre. Up next are the Panthers followed by the Zara Curtis Academy of Irish Dance, Be You Be unique beauty are followed by the Serena Brady Academy of Dance and Barnhall Rugby Club. They are followed by the Lucan BMX Club, the 5 star attics, Weston Hockey Club, Adamstown Cricket Club, Ná Gaeil Óga, RTH Property maintenance, Lucan Chiropractic, Lucan Special Olympics and finally the St James Brass /Reed Band & Lucan Concert Band & The Voice.
It prosmises to be a great afternoon so don’t miss it.
