Lucan masters medal on the National C’ship stage

LUCAN Harriers athletes turned in some great performances at the Irish Life Health National Masters Championships held in Tullamore last weekend.

Carol Kearney led the way for the club as she won gold in the W50 400m and silver in the 100m and 200m.

Tricia Gough topped the podium in the W50 1500m and picked up bronze in 800m while Annette Durkan also finished third in the W40 100m.

Ben Penter finished runner-up in the discus before taking bronze in the shot putt and weight-for-distance competition. 

What’s more, Lucan Harriers Women’s Relay team capped a successful day for the club with bronze in 4×100 Relay.

On another note the club is continuing preparation for their Five-Mile Road Race on Sunday September 8 to help mark the official opening of their all new athletics track. Registration is now open and can be entered at www.myrunresults.com
