
Lucky escape for driver as car explodes in flames in Tallaght Village

Nobody was injured in a car fire in Tallaght Village this evening.
Shortly before 6pm, a car parked in the Lidl carpark on Main Street burst into flames. Nobody was in the car at the time of the fire.

The owner of the car had only moments earlier pulled into the far side of the Lidl carpark after smelling smoke, and alighted his vehicle before it went up in flames.
One pump unit from B-Watch in Tallaght Fire Station attended the scene.
The scene made safe by local firefighters
Officers confirmed to The Echo that nobody was injured in the blaze.
The scene has since been made safe.
