
Man (30s) to appear in court following drug seizures
FOLLOWING the seizure of €400,000 of cannabis herb on Tuesday, approximately €350,000 of suspected cocaine was seized in follow-up searches on Wednesday.
Gardai are continuing to investigate the seizure of approximately €400,000 of cannabis herb during an intelligence operation on Tuesday.
The operation was led by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Clondalkin District Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.
According to a Garda statement issued, as a result of ongoing investigations into the seizure, a number of jointly co-ordinated follow-up searches were conducted on Wednesday in the Dublin 24 area, where approximately €350,000 of suspected cocaine (pending analysis) was seized.
The Garda statement said: “A man in his 30s who was arrested as part of this investigation has been charged in relation to both drug seizures and is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on [Thursday, October 19, 2023].
“The second man arrested as part of this investigation (also in his 30s) has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
