Man (39) abusive towards gardai sent to prison
A MAN who was intoxicated in public and abusive towards gardai was sentenced to two months imprisonment.
Sergio Vasilochi (39), of no fixed abode, appeared before Tallaght District Court, charged with public order offences.
Garda Shane Molloy told the court that on June 30, 2025, gardai on patrol observed a male intoxicated on a footpath at Cookstown Way, Tallaght, engaging in threatening, abusive behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
On approach to the male, identified as Vasilochi, gardai noticed a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
Vasilochi was arrested and conveyed to Tallaght Garda Station, where he continued to be abusive, shouting “fxxk you, fxxk you” to gardai.
The court heard Vasilochi has 30 previous convictions, including 17 for public order offences.
Vasilochi is currently serving a sentence for a separate offence in Wheatfield and due for release on March 14, 2026.
Defence solicitor Ethan Foley said his client was intoxicated at the time of the offence but appreciates that it was no way to respond to gardai and he was apologetic.
Mr Foley said his client is homeless, is single, not working, and has been in Ireland for three years and essentially alone.
Judge Patricia McNamara took into account the guilty plea and imposed a two-month sentence.
