Nica, aged 41, with an address at Griffeen Glen Road, Lucan, is charged with assaulting Mr Popa causing him harm at an address at Liffey Vale, Liffey Valley Park, Clondalkin, on October 20, 2017.

He is also charged with making a threat to kill Mr Popa at the Clarion Gym, Liffey Valley, on December 4, 2017, and also with making a threat to Alexandriu Mihaila to kill Mr Popa at the above address at Liffey Vale, on November 10, 2017.

The case was before Judge David McHugh for a plea or a date for hearing.

Nica’s solicitor, Michael Finucane, told Judge McHugh that he was still awaiting the recording of his client’s interview while in custody and the recording of an ambulance call.

Judge McHugh remanded Nica on continuing bail to a date in September for a plea or a date for hearing.
