
Man accused of dealing in cocaine worth €175,000

A MAN accused of dealing in cocaine worth €175,000 has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court, reports Brendan Grehan.
Philip Douglas was before Judge Patricia McNamara in Tallaght District Court for service of his book of evidence.
Douglas, aged 30, with an address at Monalea Grove, Firhouse, is charged with simple possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale or supply at an address at Verschoyle Glen, Saggart, on October 10, 2017.
He is also charged with possession of cocaine for sale or supply with a value of €13,000 or more at the Verschoyle Glen address also on October 10, 2017.
Douglas is also charged with simple possession of ecstasy, cannabis and diazepam at his address at Monalea Grove, also on October 10, 2017.
The court had heard it will be alleged that the cocaine involved was worth €175,000.
Douglas was represented by his solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan.
A Solicitor for the DPP told the court that the book was ready to be served. She said the DPP had consented for Douglas to be sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Dublin Circuit Court.
Judge McNamara issued Douglas with the alibi warning and sent him forward on bail to the next sitting of Dublin Circuit Court.
