
Man arrested after €300k Saggart drug seizure
GARDAI seized drugs worth €300,000 during a search operation in Saggart on Thursday evening.
According to a Garda statement issued, the search operation took place at an address in Saggart, with one man (40s) arrested at the scene.
The Garda statement said: “Gardai have seized €300,000 worth of various controlled drugs during a search operation at an address in Saggart, County Dublin on Thursday evening [June 6].
“At approximately 11pm on Thursday evening, gardai attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) conducted a search under warrant at a house in Saggart.
“Assistance was provided by the Garda Dog Unit.”
The statement added: “During the course of the search, 2kg of suspected heroin and smaller quantities of suspected cannabis and cocaine were seized by gardai.
“All drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
“One man (aged in his 40s) was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in Dublin.”
Investigations are ongoing, gardai said.
