Man seriously injured in apartment fire

A MAN in his sixties was seriously injured in an apartment fire in Firhouse this afternoon, Sunday, January 31.
Emergency services rushed to the apartment complex at Killininny Court where a man was taken from the scene by ambulance to Tallaght University Hospital.
The area cordoned off as the emergency services dealt with the incident in Firhouse on Sunday afternoon
Dublin Fire Brigade and Gardai attended the incident and the scene is now preserved for examination.
The area was cordoned off by Gardai during the incident as they dealt with the situation.
In a statement released to The Echo this evening, Gardai said: “Shortly after 4pm Gardai at Rathfarnham were alerted following a fire in an apartment at Killininny Court, Firhouse.
“A man understood to be in his 60s seriously injured in the fire was taken from the scene by ambulance to Tallaght University Hospital.
“The scene is preserved for examination. Foul play is not currently suspected. Enquires are ongoing”.
