Man who is accused of assaulting a garda intends to fight case
A MAN accused of seriously assaulting a garda intends to fight his case, Tallaght District Court has heard.
Shane Walsh, aged 36, with an address at St James Road, Walkinstown, is charged with assaulting Garda Brian O’Reilly causing him harm at the yard of Tallaght Garda Station on March 14, 2018.
He is also charged with resisting arrest at the yard of Tallaght Garda Station on the above date.
Walsh’s solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan, told Judge McNamara that his client was pleading not guilty.
He said he thought the case would take an hour to hear.
Judge McNamara remanded Walsh on continuing bail to a date in September for hearing.
