
Man who tried to use stolen Revolut Card is fined €600
A MAN who tried to use a stolen Revolut card to make a purchase of just over €5 was fined €600 at Tallaght District Court.
John Green (33), St Louises Park, Temple Hill, Blackrock, appeared before court in custody for separate offences, facing theft and fraud charges.
The court heard that on January 9, 2025, the accused used a Revolut card, which belonged to another person without their knowledge, at a Circle K, Nutgrove, Rathfarnham, purchasing goods to the value of €5.05.
The accused has 106 previous convictions, mainly for theft offences.
Defence solicitor Ethan Foley said his client has three kids and is eager to finish his custody in Mountjoy in the next month, in order the return to civilian life and look after his kids and elderly parents, whom he resides with and who have medical conditions that require care.
Mr Foley said his client has undertaken a crime awareness course and addiction treatment in Mountjoy, seeking leniency for lower end scale offending in this case.
Judge Áine Clancy fined Mr Green €600.
