Memorial Cup honours CIE Ranch FC founder
By Maurice Garvey
GONE but not forgotten, a memorial cup final took place recently to honour the memory of CIE Ranch FC co-founder Michael Gaff, who passed away one year ago.
Mr Gaff (83), aka ‘Mr Ranch’, from Ballyfermot, was a former League of Ireland footballer, who set up Ranch United with John Merriman.

The memorial cup final took place between Glenville FC and Mount View, at Inchicore Works.
After a cagey first half, Palmerstown side Glenville took control in the second half to run out 4-2 winners.
Taking to social media afterwards, Glenville thanked “hosts CIE Hall Inchicore Sports and Social Club for providing a great venue for a very good cup final.”
“We are delighted to celebrate this cup win with our families, friends and sponsors and thanks to the great crowd who came out to support us today.”
