
Heavy rainfall throughout day as Met Eireann issue weather warning

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning as strong gusts and heavy rainfall are forecast throughout the day.
According to Met Eireann, winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h.

Met Eireann has stated that today will be “wet, and windy with heavy rain” and that some areas in Ireland are at “risk of spot flooding”.

AA Roadwatch has advised drivers to reduce their speed, keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front and to be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists.
The weather warning is currently valid until 6pm today (Wednesday).
