MISTER KYB: Lucan musician Mister KYB back with new single

Genre-bending Lucan musician Mister KYB is back with his new single, ‘I Don’t Wanna’, following a two-year hiatus.

The 30-year-old past pupil of Coláiste Phádraig CBS fuses hip-hop, metal and rock in his propulsive new track, which looks at leaving the past behind and moving forward.

With his music having previously been played on FM104, BBC Introducing, Spin 1038 and 98FM, ‘I Don’t Wanna’ marks a welcome return from Mister KYB.

Explaining how ‘I Don’t Wanna’ came to be, Mister KYB said: “I wrote this during the first phase of the lockdown.

“I had to break down in order to rebuild.

Questioning myself, dealing with never-ending doubt and a whole mix of emotions I’ve never felt before.

“So I did the best thing I could – use music as my therapy to better understand what I left, and wrote it in a way that others could relate because I know I’m not the only one to feel this way.”

This single is an independent self-release through KYB Studios – Crazed Aristocrats and was produced by LA-based producer/musician MYSTXRY.

‘I Don’t Wanna’ by Mister KYB is out now on all streaming platforms, and for more information follow @kellzyoboy on Instagram.
