National Fish and Chips Day takes place across South Dublin
By Mark Keane
Celebrating its ninth year, The National Fish and Chips Day takes place today (Wednesday) across South Dublin.
Members of the Irish Traditional Italian Chippers Association (ITICA), including Borza and Macari’s in Tallaght, will be offering customers half-price fish and chips to mark the special occasion.
ITICA was established back in January 2010 with the goal of highlighting “the heritage behind the Irish-Italian chippers in Ireland, and emphasise what makes our family-run chippers unique,” said Peter Borza of ITICA.
Discussing the National Fish and Chips Day, he commented: “It is a hectic but fun-filled day that gives us the opportunity to celebrate 128 years of the ‘one and one’ and most importantly to thank our local communities for their ongoing support. ”
According to Peter Borza, the response to the National Fish and Chips Day has been “amazing” over the past three years and he is hoping “that everyone will join in again this year”.
For those planning on enjoying some half-price fish and chips today, all ITICA members carry the official ITICA logo, which ensures customers receive the highest levels of quality and service.
