New active travel scheme could create ‘traffic chaos’
A COUNCILLOR has warned that a new active travel scheme that will reduce the width of Castletymon Road in Tallaght to facilitate two cycle lanes will lead to “traffic chaos”.
The proposal by South Dublin County Council will see four metres of roadway being taken away to instead be used for cycle lanes, and a ‘ghost island’ that runs through the centre of the road will be removed.
