New lease of life for Nua Hair and Beauty salon

AN ESTABLSIHED beauty salon has some of the most highly trained colourists around, but many might not know where to find the service.

Nua Hair and Beauty has been operating from a cosy corner at Marlfield Mall, Kiltipper, in Tallaght, for ten years.

Last September, the salon was given a new lease of life when David and Lyndsay Miller took over the business, upgrading the premises, re-training staff, with plans for further investment in place.

The salon enjoys a loyal local clientele, but passing foot trade could be better at the Kiltipper Way mall, and this is something the Millers are keen to change, with the centre located only a short hop from The Square Shopping Centre and Citywest.

“We had people in today and they didn’t even know we were here,” said David.

“The aim is to create awareness and take the business forward into the next ten years.”

Having Alfaparf Master trained colourists is a major advantage for the business, but it is only one of the main attractions at the salon, with its beauty services also in demand, and free parking another plus for customers.

Nua also plan to introduce dermalogica and facial services.

The new owners have already upgraded the premises and retrained staff, which something David believes is vital to maintain growth in a highly competitive industry.

“Staff are constantly upskilling. All our senior stylists are Alfapark trained colourists and professional. That is one of the key things in hairdressing, that you are keeping up with new trends,” he said.

The salon is located in a corner of the Marlfield Mall, beside Mohawk Barbers, and both premises pride themselves on being family friendly.

“We are very family friendly, and have special offers for kids doing their first communion.

“Our ethos is our friendly and comfortable atmosphere,” said David.

Nua Hair & Beauty are currently offering 10 per cent discounts for OAP’s on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a special 30 per cent off waxing on Wednesdays, and a Monday to Wednesday BIAB nails and blow dry special for €55.
