No funding available to allow for opening of €6m Kishogue Station
IARNRÓD Éireann has confirmed to South Dublin County Council that the multi-million euro Kishogue Railway Station will not be operational this year.
The state-of-the-art facility was completed in 2009 with the opening delayed several times over the last five years.
Although the station is finished and ready to use the construction of an access road and car park is holding up the opening.
Iarnród Éireann wrote to the council in February after being contacted about a likely opening date for the €6 million station.
The company confirmed that there will be no funding for the car park and associated access road works in 2015 – with the issue to be considered again next year.
