One Yummy Mummy’s Spooky Witches Fingers

One Yummy Mummy’s Spooky Witches Fingers

If you’re having a Halloween party or looking for an easy activity to keep the little pumpkins busy over the mid-term then these spooky witches fingers take finger food to a whole new level.

Easy to make, they look a little gross and taste just scrummy. I think I’ve just nailed it (ok enough of the bad jokes).

Spooky witches fingers 1

Ingrdients

100g caster sugar

100g butter

1 egg yolk

200g plain flour

1 tsp almond essence or vanilla essence

Around 20 whole almonds

Red and green food colouring (paste is best)

Method

1 Cream together caster sugar and butter, until it’s light a fluffy (or as the kids say, looks like mash potato).

2 Add the egg yolk and almond essence and mix.

3 Next, sift in the flour and give another mix.

4 Get your hands into the bowl to work the dough, forming a huge dough ball.

6. Tear off small balls of dough (around the size of a €2 coin) and use your hands to roll into finger shapes.

7 Line a backing tray with parchment paper and place each finger a little apart as they will spread during baking.

8. Use a knife to make a few cuts, close together, for the knuckles and add some red food colouring for blood and green for added more spookiness!!!

9 Next, place an almond at the end of each finger and put in the fridge for 30 minutes.

10 Preheat your oven to 180C and then bake for 10-12 minutes or until your spooky fingers become firm on the outside.

Leave to cool on a wire rack before enjoying some very spooky witches fingers.
