Onus on estates with new salt bin strategy proposal
THE COUNCIL is putting the onus of gritting estates during adverse weather events on residents, with a new salt bin strategy proposing communities ferry salt between a communal store and estate store.
A cold snap in December and January last lead to South Dublin County Council committing to a review of its salt bin strategy which was “driven by the fact that we had a lot of salt in stock but didn’t necessarily have a way to get it out to a number of communities”.
