Orchard launch 2018 Actavo Cup
CHERRY Orchard, last Saturday, officially launched their 2018 Under 13 Elite Actavo Cup in Elmdale Park.
Running from September 14-16, the tournament is now in its second year and will involve eight top sides in this age group.
Ireland will be represented by teams from hosts Cherry Orchard FC, the FAI Under 13 Emerging Talent squad and St Patrick’s Athletic, who will be defending the title.
Also lining out in the competition will be Liverpool, Glasgow Celtic, Newcastle United, Aberdeen and Swansea City.
Thirteen-year-old Jessie Stapleton will be the first female to participate in the Actavo Cup, competing alongside her Cherry Orchard team mates after having been called into Colin Bell’s International Women’s team this year.
Graham Henderson, Regional Manager, Hire & Sales division of Actavo said: “Actavo | Hire & Sales is delighted to support this event again in 2018.
“Football is at the heart of the local community. We always look to give back to the local community and, being a coach of the Under 9s team myself, I fully see the potential in our players in Cherry Orchard,” he added.
All information about Actavo Cup 2018 can be found on the club’s website www.cherryorchardfc.ie/actavo-cup-2018, or on any of their social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
