Outdated school prefabs deemed ‘unsafe’ but upgrade promised
OUTDATED prefabs at a school branded “unsafe” by local representatives, finally received some good news earlier this month with the promise of an upgrade by the Department of Education.
St Ronan’s National School in Clondalkin has 13 prefab classrooms, most of which were built before 1993, are lacking insulation, which means “huge issues with heat loss” leading to freezing classrooms and increasing energy bills.
